Announcement: Here is a copy of the newest e-mail sent from the AAF competition office. Please make sure you remove any State Farm references from social networking sites...

Dear NSAC Faculty Advisers:

We applaud the excitement and enthusiasm demonstrated by the 2010 NSAC teams as they strive to create a winning plans book and presentation for State Farm.

Many of the NSAC teams have begun pre-testing their ideas, which is encouraged; however, please refrain from using the State Farm logo or mentioning State Farm if your pre-testing efforts involve social networking sites. We do not want the NSAC pre-testing initiatives to be confused with "actual" State Farm marketing initiatives.

If your team has posted work that includes the State Farm logo or name on social networking sites that work should be removed immediately.

As always thank you for your cooperation.

Good luck!
Announcement: Here is a copy of previous e-mail sent from the AAF competition office. Please pay careful attention to the points raised as they will have a direct impact on your primary research...

TO: NSAC Faculty Advisers

Thank you for your eagerness to develop an effective plans book for the 2010 National Student Advertising client – State Farm.

In order to develop a strategically sound campaign, students are encouraged to conduct primary research to support their recommendations.

In accordance with NSAC P&P Section 5.01, students are not allowed to contact State Farm’s corporate office. In the memo that accompanied the responses to the first clarification questions it was stated State Farm has agreed that students can contact local agents in their respective markets as they conduct their primary research. Electronic surveys are not permitted, therefore you can only telephone and/or meet in-person with a local agent. However, please note that the local agents should only be asked general insurance questions. Asking local agents questions about anything other than general insurance is not permitted and could result in the students receiving information that is not consistent with State Farm’s corporate marketing strategy.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Announcement: I encourage everyone to take a look at the following link. There are several industry-based news briefs (story summaries in a digest form) that are kept up to date daily. The AAF sponsored brief is a great resource that will keep you up to date on industry happenings. There are other advertising related briefs, too. There's also several for the insurance industry listed. You can subscribe to an e-mail verson for any of these...which is nice! http://www.smartbrief.com/index.jsp

As of now...I just have a post that was supposed to be an e-mail on the Home page. We can use some organization so that it's easier to get to pages. I've consolidated the team pages with an index page. It would be helpful if someone did that sort of thing for this Home page, too.
Do you find this valuable?
